About Ashlyn
Hi, I'm Ashlyn, a Jewelry Designer and NIFT Delhi graduate with experience working on design projects for Tanishq (Titan Company), PP Jewellers, and freelance clients. My passion lies in transforming ideas, stories, and inspirations into meaningful jewelry concepts that balance creativity, aesthetics, and practicality.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have worked on trend research, concept development, jewelry illustration, rendering, collection design, and portfolio creation. Having recently gone through the process of building design portfolios, internships, and industry projects myself, I understand the challenges students face and can provide guidance that is both practical and relevant to today's design industry.
I believe that jewelry design is not just about creating beautiful pieces—it's about developing a strong design process, creative thinking skills, and the ability to communicate ideas effectively. My goal is to help students gain confidence in their abilities while building a portfolio that genuinely reflects their talent and potential.

My teaching approach is highly practical and industry-oriented, focusing on helping students build a professional jewellery design portfolio from scratch. Rather than only teaching design theory, I guide students through the complete design process used in the industry, ensuring they develop both creative and technical skills.
Classes typically begin with trend research, inspiration gathering, and creating effective mood boards that communicate a strong design direction. Students then learn concept development, form generation, ideation techniques, and how to transform ideas into original jewellery concepts.
The design development stage covers hand sketching, professional rendering techniques, and digital design presentations. I also teach gemstone knowledge, material understanding, technical drawing, dimensioning, and the creation of detailed specification sheets (tech sheets) that are essential for communicating designs to manufacturers.
Finally, I help students compile and present their work in a polished portfolio that showcases their design thinking, creativity, technical skills, and unique design identity. Throughout the learning process, students receive personalized feedback and guidance tailored to their goals and skill level.
These classes are ideal for beginners, jewellery design students, NIFT and design-school aspirants, aspiring jewellery designers, and anyone looking to build a strong academic or professional portfolio for further studies, internships, freelance work, or industry opportunities.
