About Rupen

Hi, I’m Rupen — a passionate NHS Clinical Scientist, biochemistry graduate, cancer researcher, and science communicator who lives and breathes making science make sense. I hold a BSc in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester, where my research explored how nanoparticles can help detect cancer earlier and more accurately. I’ve also studied how specific nutrients can affect lung cancer cells — work that’s deepened my understanding of real-world science and sharpened my eye for detail. In my current NHS role in Clinical Biochemistry, I help deliver vital diagnostic results that directly impact patient treatment. Every day, I work hands-on with advanced lab equipment and real patient samples — and I bring that real-world experience into every lesson I teach. Whether it’s explaining a tricky biology topic, guiding a student through their dissertation, or helping someone apply for an NHS role, I’m committed to giving my students the clarity, confidence, and edge they need. But what truly sets me apart? I don’t just teach science — I live it. I give lectures, talks, and training sessions. I’ve worked my way up through the NHS. I know what it takes to succeed in healthcare and academia — and I love helping others find their path. If you’re looking for a tutor who brings energy, depth, and genuine care to every session — someone who will go the extra mile to make sure you succeed — I’d love to work with you.

About the lesson

About Your Lessons As an NHS trainee Clinical Scientist with a BSc in Medical Biochemistry and an MSc in Biochemistry, I offer science tutoring that is clear, engaging, and goal-oriented. I work with students from primary school through to university level, helping them build confidence, improve academic performance, and prepare for future careers — including roles in the NHS. How I Teach My approach is tailored to each student’s level, learning style, and objectives. I focus on: • Breaking down complex topics into simple, digestible concepts • Reinforcing understanding through active recall and exam-style practice • Linking theory to real-world applications, especially in healthcare and lab science • Creating a relaxed but structured environment that promotes curiosity and independent thinking Every session is personalised and outcome-driven. Whether you’re studying for a key exam or just need help keeping up with coursework, we’ll work together to meet your goals. 🗓️ Lesson Format • Length: Typically 1 hour (flexible based on age/needs) • Available: Evenings and weekends • Delivery: Online (Zoom or Microsoft Teams) • Each lesson includes clear objectives, interactive explanations, guided practice, and feedback Who My Lessons Are For • Primary & Secondary students (general science, biology, chemistry) • GCSE & A-Level students preparing for exams or coursework • University students in biochemistry, physiology, and life sciences • NHS job applicants (science and non-science roles) needing guidance with CVs, personal statements, and interview prep If you’re looking for a tutor who combines academic expertise with real-world clinical experience, I’m here to help you succeed — academically and professionally.
