• When did you start practising? How did this passion find you?

  I started training in screen acting in 2012. I was a professional dancer and dance teacher prior but hurt myself badly and had to give it up. I then decided to audition for NIDA with no acting training prior - I know interesting choice. I was lucky that one of the examiners pulled me aside and said that "I am more a screen actor than theatre." And that I should try Screenwise. I got a late submission and was selected for their full-time diploma and haven't looked back.

• Which artists or works inspire you the most?

  Boys don't cry is my favourite movie. As an actor, these are the movies I want to be a part of. Hillary Swank is amazing at Drama. I'm inspired by Regina King, Brea Larson, Kate Jenkinson, Nasmin Pedrad and Jackie Weaver.

• What are the specific qualities or skills required to succeed in this area?

  Dedication, resilience and passion

• What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

  Creativity will come in waves, if it comes jump on it and try and surf that wave if you can. But also let yourself breathe and don't beat yourself up if you miss it, just remember to try and catch the next one.

• How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

  Teaching Acting gives me an incredible buzz seeing all my students succeeding in their own way makes me feel like a proud mum.
  
  It's different to the feeling of using my own voice to act and tell untold stories. But both are so rewarding in their own ways.

• What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

  A short film called Warriors that I wrote and produced. Working with people like Adele, Ellen Pompeo, John Wood, Freddie Prince Jr, Liv Hewson and Julie Kalceff.
  
  Also, seeing my student achieve has been great. I have a student on a STAN series, Multiple in feature films and many booking TV commercials.

• Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

  Yes. I have a student who had not acted prior, did 6 months worth of lessons with me and landed a great agent and a role on a T.V show. She is now continuing to audition for big American productions.
  
  Also, people who come into their first class with raw talent is surprising, inspiring and exciting.

• Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

  The love for the craft of screen acting the industry and the next generation. I want to see people succeed and reach their goals. "I aspire to inspire before I expire"
