About Anthony
I have experience teaching two beginners and one intermediate guitar player while attending college (as well as teaching an undergraduate engineering course). I was a self-taught guitarist for eight years and took lessons with a professional jazz guitarist for three. I have a strong understanding of jazz music theory and harmonic analysis that can benefit a guitarist of any style or skill-level. By being both a self-taught and formally taught guitarist, I know what works and what doesn't. I know how to break through plateaus and how to keep practice interesting, fun and efficient.

my lessons and teaching style are tailored towards the student based on their musical interests, goals and skill level. Whether you just started or have been playing for years, and whether you're interested in jazz, blues, acoustic, rock, country or pop, I can show you how to take your playing to the next level.
For the beginners, it is important to build a strong foundation that keeps your practice interesting and consistent. You will learn the basics: terminology, note positions on the neck, fundamental chord structures, picking and strumming techniques, popular chord progressions, rhythms and more.
Intermediate and advanced players cover a wide range of skill levels and so the topics and examples discussed will be dependent on what they wish to improve upon. The lessons that I offer include but are not limited to: the major scale and associated modes, advanced/extended chord construction, harmonic analysis of songs, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation and just about anything else you might be interested in.
