About Rie
I am a fully bilingual Japanese native with 3 years of experience tutoring Japanese. I TA-ed for intermediate and advanced Japanese classes, and I also tutored 1:1 for beginner - advanced level students. I go beyond the textbook phrases to help students sound more natural and less robotic.

I find that a combination of explanation (consisting of breaking down the term to the root words) and repetition is what helps students learn new vocabulary. I try to provide example sentences and scenarios to help students understand how to use terminology in the right context.
