About Sofia
I have studies in Linguistics and English Literature. In the past, I also studied music, so I’m someone who truly values art and culture. I'm Chilean and have had the opportunity to connect with many cultures. I’ve traveled throughout South America and lived in Ireland for a year, where I was able to learn from and share with people from different countries. I love tennis, cooking, playing the guitar, art, dancing, history, and of course, literature. I'm sure we can find a topic in common or explore new ones together, so you can not only expand your vocabulary but also your general knowledge!

With a background in linguistics and English literature, I’ve explored various aspects of language and culture. I believe that through music, literature, and culture, language learning can be both engaging and enjoyable. I’ve taught Spanish and English to learners of all ages, which has helped me adapt my lessons to different needs and interests. As a second-language English speaker, I’ve experienced firsthand the value of different learning methods. While grammar is important, I focus on an integral approach that includes phonetics, listening, speaking, and writing.

Sofia has been a very supportive source of explanations, owing to her patience for the listener to catch up and her diligence to be adequately informed of the topic at hand. Her penchant for conversationalism in the vernacular lends itself excellently to creating a welcoming and accommodating environment, which I have no doubt will translate seamlessly into a learning space to put to rest the jitters and embarrassment one often feels when picking up a new language.
I did take courses with Sofia to train my Spanish adn thanks to her I improved a lot. Even though I don't have a natural talent for Spanish, she was patient and helpful so I can only recommend her!
