About Vascobranco
I'm a native Portuguese speaker based in Porto and a Marketing Management student. Portuguese is the language I've lived in my whole life, at home, at school and at work, so I can teach you the way it's genuinely spoken today, including the expressions and pronunciation you won't find in textbooks.
As a language learner myself, I know which methods actually help and how important it is to feel comfortable making mistakes. That's why my lessons are patient, practical and adapted to each student.
I also have professional experience in brand promotion and events, speaking every day with customers, colleagues and managers. It gave me a solid feel for professional Portuguese and for putting people at ease, two things I bring to every lesson.
I'm punctual, well prepared and fully committed to your progress. My goal is to help you speak Portuguese with confidence, wherever you need it.

My lessons are built around one idea: you learn Portuguese by using it. From the very first session we speak, listen and practise the situations you actually face, whether that's ordering at a café, chatting with neighbours, joining a team meeting or writing a work email.
I combine conversation with role-play. We simulate real moments, like renting an apartment, going to the doctor, presenting a project or negotiating with a client, and I guide you through the vocabulary and expressions you need. Grammar comes in when it's useful, explained simply and in English if that helps you, so it never feels like memorising rules for the sake of it. I also pay close attention to pronunciation, since the sounds of European Portuguese are often the hardest part for learners, and I correct you gently as we go.
A typical lesson starts with a few minutes of free conversation to warm up and revisit what we covered last time. Then we work on the main topic of the day, with new vocabulary and the grammar behind it. After that comes the practical part, a role-play or real-life exercise where you put everything to use. We finish by reviewing your mistakes and the expressions worth keeping, and you leave with notes and a short task to practise before the next class.
What sets me apart is that I teach Portuguese the way it's really spoken in Portugal, in both everyday and professional settings. As a native speaker from Porto who studies marketing and has worked with brands and events, I know how people talk at work: how formal to be in an email, how to address a manager, how to keep a conversation going with a client. I'm patient, I adapt every lesson to your goals, and I keep the atmosphere relaxed so you feel comfortable speaking from day one.
The lessons are for adults from complete beginner to intermediate level. They suit people moving to Portugal, expats who want to feel at home, professionals who need Portuguese for work or to deal with Portuguese clients and colleagues, and anyone who simply loves the language. Lessons are available online, or in person in Porto.
