As an English tutor, my goal for my students is to revolve around the development of language skills through confidence and fine-tuning, leading to a deeper understanding of English grammar, literature, writing, and communication. I customize my lessons around the learner's needs and I believe in the student-centered approach, where lessons are made to meet the needs of each particular student. I work hard to make the learning process engaging and effective.
Each lesson is designed to achieve maximum comprehension with active participation from the student. A typical session might look like this (lesson times may vary):
- Warm-Up and Review (10 minutes) – A brief discussion or some interactive activity to review what the student has been working on, or to introduce the day's topic.
- New Concept Introduction (20 minutes) – Introduction of a new grammar rule, vocabulary set, or literary technique; examples and explanation.
- Guided Practice (20 minutes) - Students practice the new concept through reading, writing, or speaking exercises.
- Review and conclude lesson (10 minutes)
My English lessons are designed for students of all levels, whether you're just starting to learn the language or looking to refine advanced skills. I work with:
Beginner to Advanced English Learners: Customized lessons for students learning English as a second language, ESL, or those who need grammar, writing, and/or speaking improvement.
High School & College Students: Assistance with English literature, essay writing, reading comprehension, and exam preparation-such as SAT, ACT, IELTS, and TOEFL.
Adults & Professionals: Business English, professional writing, and conversation practice to help improve workplace communication or social situations.
ESL Test Preparation: TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge test preparation for ESL learners.
