About Jianmei
My name is Jianmei and live in Preston, Lancashire. I have been a Mandarin Chinese teacher and tutor since 2000. I moved from Beijing of China to the UK in 2000 and ever since I have been passionate about sharing my Chinese culture and learning about the UK. This leads to pursue a career in teaching Chinese. I teach both adults and children in one-to-one or small group lessons. I also offer classes for people who take A-level and GCSE Mandarin exams. These lessons can be in person, or online over Skype/Zoom.

My style of teaching is fun, encouraging and immersive. I often incorporate aspects of your daily life in our lessons to make learning more relevant, memorable and useful. I love to use poems, songs, stories etc. in which you are familiar with and then translate them into Chinese as a fun way to memorise vocabulary and grammar. I also make videos and use them in my teaching. I believe a dynamic lesson can make the lesson interesting and at the same time, it improves your Chinese.

Prices You are welcome to come and join me at any point in your Mandarin Chinese learning journey. Tuition fee varies from 15pounds to 30pounds per lesson, depends on your level and the nature of the class. * casual conversational lessons 18pounds * GCSE 25pounds * A - level 30pounds * 10% off for online lessons * discount for long term learning * I am happy to travel to your house for private tuition however there is a charge for petrol cost: 45pences per mile.
