My background as a translator and interpreter provides a solid linguistic and cultural foundation, enabling me to guide you through any challenges along your learning journey. My lessons are aimed at adult students at beginner level, e.g. expats or their partners/family members, those planning to travel to Germany or hobby learners. Classes are held online using Google Meet.
Before commencing lessons, we'll discuss your goals, motives and needs, so I can tailor classes accordingly and ensure you get the most out of them.
I take a structured yet relaxed approach with each lesson covering all the aspects of language learning: practicing conversational skills, expanding vocabulary and working through grammar topics step by step. There will also be homework, so you can make progress and further deepen your language skills. During lessons I always make notes of new vocabulary and grammar concepts in Google Docs which I'll share with you for future reference.
I look forward to embarking on this language adventure together!
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
I hold a university degree in Interpreting and Translation for English and Russian from the University of Leipzig in Germany. My thesis explored the topic of Cultural Aspects of British-German Business Communication.
I have since worked as a translator both freelance and in-house for an embassy and a leading language service provider for 10+ years. For the past 3 years now I have been teaching German online as a private tutor.
