About Josh
Bonjour, and thank you for stopping by my profile!
I'm a native French speaker who grew up with the language and spent nine years living in Paris, so French isn't just something I know, it's part of who I am. Having also completed my GCSE and A level French here in England, I understand both sides of the learning journey: the language as it's truly spoken, and exactly what UK students need to succeed.
I want to teach because I love that moment when something clicks and a learner realises they can actually hold a conversation. Too many people feel nervous about speaking, and I find real joy in replacing that hesitation with confidence. Helping someone discover they can speak French, and enjoy it, is genuinely rewarding.

My methodology: I teach through real conversation rather than rote grammar. We talk about topics you actually enjoy, and I gently correct as we go, so you absorb vocabulary and structure naturally, the way I did growing up. I focus on building confidence first, because a relaxed learner is a fast learner.
Lesson length: Typically 60 minutes, though I offer 30 minute sessions for younger learners or anyone wanting shorter, more frequent practice.
Experience: A native French speaker who lived in Paris for nine years, and completed both GCSE and A level French in the English system, so I understand exactly what UK exams require.
Who it's for: Everyone from beginner (A1) through to upper intermediate (B2). I work with school age students preparing for GCSE or A level, and adults learning for travel, work, or simply for the joy of speaking French. Whether you're starting from scratch or want to push past a plateau and finally speak with ease, I'll meet you at your level.
