About Jay
I am Jay, I was born and raised in France, and I completed my education, up to the end of secondary school there.
I have always been passionate about languages, which is the very reason why I moved to the UK after secondary school to study German at university.
I have now graduated but my time at university has reinforced my love for languages and my desire to help others in their language learning.
While at university, I did French tutoring on a voluntary basis for adults and children. I really enjoyed designing lessons and found it very rewarding to see the learners’ progress over time.
I like teaching because it allows me to help others in a subject I’m have a genuine passion for.

I aim to provide a personalised and lively approach to tutoring, making sure to understand the goals of the student, their current challenges and preferred learning methods.
To do so, I use the first lesson to discuss the student’s needs and assess the student’s rough level through various tasks.
Following that, I suggest a learning plan, which will be used to ensure the student’s progression. I will base my lessons on carefully chosen resources, which I aim to adapt to the preferences of the learner, and can include study books, novels, films, songs …
But if preferred, the lessons, can, of course, be based on study materials provided by the student’s school.
All in all, I aim to make the lessons engaging and entertaining for the learner because language learning should be fun and lively.
I truly believe that linguistic progress is highly linked to how much you enjoy learning the language, and that sums up my main goal in language tutoring: making the learner actually like learning the language.
