About Kathleen
Hi! I’m a native French speaker from Québec, now based in Calgary. French is my superpower!
I grew up in the Laurentians, in a fully French-speaking environment. This gave me a strong foundation in authentic, natural French — the kind people actually use, not just what appears in textbooks.
After high school, I spent time in Alberta during university, which helped me strengthen my English and better understand the challenges of learning a second language. I eventually returned to Alberta and settled in Calgary, where I now live and work as French Tutor, a Pet Sitter and a Medical Actor.
I’ve always had a strong interest in language, communication, and helping others feel more confident expressing themselves. In 2025, I decided to focus more intentionally on French tutoring after seeing how many students — especially in French immersion — struggle to move from memorizing vocabulary to actually using French in real life.
Today, I work with beginner and intermediate learners, as well as immersion students who want to strengthen their grammar, improve their speaking confidence, and develop practical French skills they can use beyond the classroom.
