Hi there, Joshua, your potentially favorite tutor and language aide online, is more than excited to introduce himself to you. :) I have been teaching English to students of all ages successfully for more than ten years now. My journey started as a favor for a friend who owned an English training center while I was doing my bachelor's in China, and quickly found out how much I loved it and had the skills and characteristics requisite for success in this field of impacting lives personally. Since then, I have taught and am still teaching students in-person (while I was in China) and also on online tutoring platforms just like superprof.
I am especially good at helping adults get ready for the IELTS and become fluent. As an IELTS expert, I offer full coaching in the Reading and Speaking modules. I use targeted strategies like expanding your vocabulary based on the topic, taking practice tests, and doing exercises to build your confidence to help you get through tough times and reach your goal score by the test deadline. I make learning general and business English fun and interesting for adults. They can build their conversational confidence, improve their pronunciation, and deal with real-world business situations like presentations and negotiations, so they can speak up in any situation.
My philosophy in teaching is centrally student-centered, and is based on creating and building on an interactive setting that resonates with each student personally. I especially use the flipped-classroom and contextual learning approach to deliver this effect. In these approaches, you use new vocabulary and grammar in everyday-relevant sentences and scenarios. This always helps you understand the material much better through trials as practices and corrections as constructive feedback for you to see your progress in real-time. Through my years of experience, I have built my lessons to be the most fun and yet productive, including discussions of various topics (general or personal), random quizzes, and other interactive activities.
