Techniques & Methodology My lessons are interactive and student-centred, focusing on three core pillars: 1. Structured Foundation: For new learners, I establish a strong base in Pinyin and tones through clear explanations, drills, and listening exercises. We then build on this with essential vocabulary and grammar, introduced in a logical, manageable progression. 2. Practical Application: I prioritise practical communication. We move beyond textbook examples to use the language in real-life contexts through role-playing scenarios (e.g., ordering food, travelling, business meetings), discussing interesting topics, and using multimedia resources like videos and articles. 3. Customised & Engaging Content: Your interests drive the content. Lessons for a child will be filled with games, songs, and stories. Lessons for a professional will focus on business Chinese and industry-specific terminology. I continuously adapt the material to keep you motivated and challenged. Lesson Length A typical lesson runs for 45 minutes. This provides ample time to review previous material, introduce new concepts, practice them thoroughly, and hold a meaningful conversation without feeling rushed. I also offer **90-minute sessions for students preparing for exams or those who want more intensive practice. My Qualifications & Experience I am a native Mandarin speaker with a deep understanding of both the language and cultural nuances. My experience includes: Privately tutoring students of various ages and backgrounds, from young beginners to adult learners. Designing personalised lesson plans that target specific objectives, such as exam preparation (GCSE/IGCSE Chinese), business proficiency, or conversational fluency.
