About Melody
Hi, my name is Melody, 你好！我叫做郭律伶. I am a native speaker and have studied English in an international school for over 12 years, and I like the Chinese language very much. I also have great enthusiasm for teaching. During high school, I volunteered to provide children's education in remote areas of Taiwan. After graduating, I also successfully obtained the diploma of International Baccalaureate and got 6 out of 7 in the "Chinese & Literature" A Level. Now I am in my first year at the University of Toronto. I hope to provide you with my teaching services.

My lesson will focus on helping with pronunciation, recognizing characters (reading), learning essential grammar, and using basic greetings from daily life or workplace terms. I provide customized lessons for students with different learning purposes or conditions. For beginners learning pronunciation, I suggest learning Bopomofo rather than Pinyin. The advantage of learning Bopomofo is that, apart from being a great auxiliary tool for learning to recognize characters, its most significant benefit is making pronunciation clear and correct. Significantly, native English speakers' articulation is easily affected by the English environment, so learning Bopomofo will help correct it. My lesson is suitable for beginners, especially kids or adults who are learning Chinese and trying to improve their ability to recognize the characters, enhance their speaking accuracy, etc.
