About Yuhan
Hello! I’m Yuhan, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my Chinese class.
Originally from China and currently enjoying life in beautiful New Zealand, I am a native speaker whose life has always revolved around the power of language and the joy of sharing knowledge.
My Background & Legitimacy:
I hold a Master of Education from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. For years, I have worked deeply with words as a professional writer, with my articles frequently featured in top-tier Chinese media outlets. This intensive background means I don’t just speak Chinese; I understand its underlying mechanics, its cultural nuances, and its highest literary forms.
Why I Want to Teach:
I want to teach because I fundamentally believe that learning a new language should be an empowering, joy-filled experience, not a stressful chore. Seeing a student successfully navigate a real-life conversation or write a beautiful sentence brings me immense pride. My journalism background gave me a love for storytelling, and my education degree gave me the tools to help you tell your story in Chinese. My goal is to be the encouraging guide who makes your learning journey relaxed, enjoyable, and profoundly effective.
A Little More About Me:
When I am not teaching or writing, you can usually find me exploring the world through a different lens—I am a huge photography enthusiast. I also love unwinding by cooking and experimenting with recipes, especially firing up the grill for some great barbecue! I always encourage my students to talk about their own hobbies during our lessons, as it makes conversational practice so much more authentic and fun.

As a native Chinese educator, I am passionate about making language learning a highly rewarding experience. I hold a Master of Education from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Typical Lesson Length:
A standard lesson runs for 60 minutes, which provides the perfect balance for interactive dialogue, targeted exercises, and cultural insights. However, I am entirely flexible and can adjust to 45-minute or 90-minute sessions to perfectly match your attention span and schedule.
