I had the pleasure of attending Matthew's English classes at a language school in Verona for about a year and a half, and I can honestly say he was by far my favourite teacher there.

What set Matthew apart from other teachers was his authentic British accent — the kind you rarely come across outside of the UK itself. At times it was challenging to follow, but that was precisely what made his lessons so valuable. It pushed me to truly train my ear, rather than settling for a more neutral or simplified pronunciation. For me personally, it also brought back fond memories of the years I spent living in London, and made every lesson feel like a little immersion experience.

Matthew left Italy in May 2024 to return to Great Britain, and his departure was a real loss for the school and for all his students. If you ever get the chance to learn with him, don't hesitate — his lessons are the real thing.
