About Leah
My name is Leah, and I am a Deaf ASL tutor raised in Deaf culture with a background in education. I am passionate about teaching authentic American Sign Language while helping students understand the cultural values that shape Deaf communication. My experience in educational settings has strengthened my ability to create structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
I approach tutoring with patience, clarity, and intention, tailoring each lesson to meet individual learning styles and goals. I take pride in maintaining professionalism, clear communication, and a welcoming atmosphere where students feel comfortable learning and making progress at their own pace.

My teaching approach is immersive, visual, and student-centered, focusing on real-life American Sign Language rather than memorization. A typical lesson includes review, new vocabulary or grammar, guided practice, and conversation activities. What sets me apart is my lived experience as a Deaf person and cultural knowledge. My lessons are designed for beginner to intermediate learners, including students, parents, educators, and anyone interested in authentic ASL and Deaf culture.
