I'm Emmanuel, and my journey from a nine-year-old chess enthusiast to representing my country in national tournaments has been nothing short of magical. Now, with an online rating of 2100+, I'm here to share that magic with you.

When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?
I started playing chess in 2015. Our school chess coach had just started teaching us the moves and little strategies. I derived a passion for it, and I started studying independently.
Which artists or works affect you the most?
Magnus Carlsen mostly influences me. He is currently the highest-ranked player in the world. I like his style of chess play, and I try to replicate it in mine.
What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?
I'd say patience, consistency, discipline, and a passion for learning more are all needed to succeed in this area.
What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?
The most valuable advice I can give to help someone stay focused on chess is to be consistent and disciplined. These are very, very important if one want's to achieve anything in chess.
How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?
I became more obsessed with chess because it allowed me to get out of the corners of the world. When I play chess, I feel like I am in another world, so I forget all my problems and focus on the board.
What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?
Well, there was this time that I was doing a Northern State chess tournament. I went there intending to come among the top 10, which would mean a lot because I was a Junior (Under 20) chess player. I ended up achieving that dream, and I was very proud of that moment.
Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?
Yes!!!!! Marcellus!!! I started tutoring Him in June 2023. His chess.com rating was around 400. Before the end of the year, he reached a rating of 1500, which is already a rating for an advanced player. I was shocked by his quick improvement. He is also very passionate about chess, which is what helped him.

Honestly, I don't want to say it's luck. However, I had my first student around February. I did my best to give him the best service so he could give me a good rating. I also got tips from my coaches on giving students good tutorials.
