About Smita
Hi my name is Smita and I have been teaching ICT, science, maths and English for 14 years. I am a qualified teacher and I have a Masters in Education Practice.
I currently work as a teacher, teaching people with learning needs maths, English, science and ICT. I teach both GCSE and functional skills.
I specialise in working with children and adults with learning needs. I have many years experience working with dyslexia, dyscalculia and autism.
Before this role I worked at a large Leicester college teaching maths and English to the hardest to reach disengaged youth in the community.

I specialise in learning needs and teachings to people who may not want to fully engage.
I teach children and adults using a variety of methods to keep learners engaged and to cater to their learning needs. I encourage students to voice any difficulties they may have or share what works well for them so that I can adjust the teaching to make it more appropriate.
I do periodic assessments with regular feedback to parents. Here we discuss progress and any concerns after each session.
