My name is Mia, and I am a 4th-year UCL medical student with an intercalated bachelor's in oncology. I have been teaching maths GCSE for 4 years, having received a grade 9 GCSE and an A* in A-level.

About Mia
My name is Mia Green and I'm 22 years old.
I'm currently studying in my 4th year at UCL medical school. I also have a degree in oncology (cancer research) and work at the Royal Free Hospital as well as Great Ormond Street Hospital.
I have been tutoring for 4 years now. My current students have been with me for 2 years throughout their GCSE maths journey. I aim to have students feeling as confident as they can heading into the exam hall, and my lessons mainly focus on exam questions and how to approach them. We generally work through questions together to take away the pressure of approaching unknown questions.

Over 4 years, I have taught many students, all of whom finished GCSE with a grade 7 or above.
My lessons take place on Zoom and range from 1-2 hours depending on the students' preferences.
Lessons involve a mix of me discussing questions and teaching the general theory of topics, as well as asking students to talk me through questions and guiding them if they make mistakes.
In my experience with studying maths, question practice is the most helpful revision strategy for students. As exams come around for my tutees, this becomes past paper prep to diversify the topics we cover in one session and remove the stress around sitting exams.
