About Helen
Bonjour, Je m'appelle Helen :)
I am a well travelled, 30 year old French teacher from Manchester. I have been passionate about all things cultural and French since I started going on holidays with my family as a child. It was here where I discovered my curiosity for the cultural exchange we share in when we travel to another country. I strongly believe we can only truly soak up another culture and expand our minds by learning a language. I want to encourage more people to reap the benefits of learning French and the world it can open up to them!

My lessons:
- GCSE : Using the backbone of the exam requirements, a strong focus on speaking and listening (the most challenging skills in my experience!), reading and writing. Creating a booklet covering all of the topics with written responses to oral exam questions in preparation for GCSE.
* Expect each skill area to be covered every lesson *
- A level : Similar to GCSE but with a more detailed approach to grammar and issues in France/ French-speaking countries as per the syllabus.
- Key stage 3 (years 7 & 8): Introduction to culture with songs, competitive games, role plays, small written sentences and paragraphs, excerpts from classic french books (e.g. le petit prince). Taster of what is to come at GCSE.
- Key stage 1 & 2(Primary school): Lots of singing, games and repetition. Focusing mostly on speaking.
