About Matthew
I’ve been teaching students for about 3 years, with a small break from teaching while I completed the first year of my master's degree at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I taught close to 10 students regularly, ranging from grades 6-12. My students have succeeded in many ways, ranging from qualifying for Texas UIL Region Band to being accepted to DePaul University in Chicago, IL to major in music performance.

I teach students from beginner to college age. I have taken lessons and worked with many great teachers throughout the United States, and have studied a wide variety of topics including orchestral percussion, marching percussion, and contemporary music. As a teacher, the goals for my students are to improve their overall technique, teach them about musicality and what it means to be a musician, and to give them a wide knowledge of percussion and contemporary music as a whole.
