About Dylan
Dylan Dukat (b. 2000) is a Korean-American composer and educator. Writing music described as “collages of abstract sound,” his work focuses on experimentation with a philosophical core.
Dylan earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Musical Studies from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, where he also earned a Certificate in Performance. He is pursuing his Master of Music in Music Composition at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Currently, Dylan works as a freelance composer. He is a member of the Millennium Composers Initiative, a collective dedicated to "creating fresh and engaging new music for all types of ensembles and media, [and striving] to push the limits of what defines music and art through experimental, conventional, and interdisciplinary means." During summers, Dylan works as the Dorm Head and Composition Faculty at the Eastern U.S. Music Camp, operating out of Colgate University. Previously, Dylan worked as a student teacher in the Phoenix Central School District, where he taught general music, symphonic winds, and music theory at K-12 levels. Dylan was also an instructor for the Phoenix Parade Band.
