About Edison
Hi! I’m Edison, a songwriter, music producer, mixing engineer, and recording artist with over seven years of experience creating, recording, and mixing music across indie pop, rock, and funk styles. I produce and release music under the artist name Geepers!, handling everything from writing and arranging to mixing and mastering on my own. I know firsthand how exciting — and sometimes overwhelming — learning music production can be. That’s why I love helping others build confidence in their creative process and learn to use their tools in a way that feels fun and inspiring. Whether it’s working with EQ and compression, understanding arrangement and song structure, or just getting past creative roadblocks, I’m here to help make it all feel approachable. I’m patient, detail-oriented, and passionate about meeting students where they are and helping them grow. As a tutor, my approach is centered on making music production both approachable and exciting. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into clear, actionable steps and tailoring each lesson to the student’s goals and learning style. I focus on building a strong foundation in both technical skills and creative decision-making, helping students not only learn how to use tools, but also why they make certain production choices.
My teaching method is hands-on and project-based. I encourage students to bring in their own songs or start new ones during lessons, so everything we cover is directly applied in real time. I blend technical walkthroughs (EQ, compression, mixing, etc.) with creative exploration, ensuring students gain confidence in both areas.
A typical lesson often begins by reviewing the student’s progress and setting a clear goal for the session. We’ll then dive into either a specific production technique, troubleshooting a current project, or developing arrangement ideas. We finish with action items for practice before the next session, and I always leave room for questions and flexibility.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my versatility: I’ve spent years producing, writing, recording, and mixing my own music across indie pop, rock, and funk genres, and I understand both the technical and emotional sides of making music. I also know what it’s like to be self-taught — I’m great at helping students who feel overwhelmed by YouTube tutorials and DAW menus and turning that into clear, personalized learning.
My lessons are for aspiring artists, college students, hobbyists, or anyone with a passion for making music — whether they’re just starting out with production or looking to level up their mixing and arrangement skills. I’m happy to work with beginners who are opening their DAW for the first time, intermediate producers who need help polishing their sound, or songwriters looking to bring their ideas to life.
