About Mark
Adelaide based Composer, Producer and Songwriter Mark Fogliano (B. Music, B. Commerce) has an enthusiasm and energy for writing and producing well-crafted songs, that has kept him working steadily in the industry with a variety of new artists across a range of genres, including pop, rock, indie, r&b, and folk.
Trained as a classical pianist from a young age, he eventually moved into contemporary music as a keyboard player and song programmer, performing in theatre stage shows, covers and original bands, where he first became interested in the production and song writing processes.
Mark completed his Bachelor of Music in composition and production at the Australian Institute of Music (Melbourne) where he was mentored by the likes of legendary Australian producer Charles Fisher (Savage Garden, Hoodoo Gurus, The Divinyls), former Studio 301 producer and engineer Steeve Body (Seal, Eskimo Joe, Yothu Yindi), and film composer Robert J. Sedky (Crossfire, The, Lone Pine).
He has scored for commercials, television and film, and has had compositions performed by jazz ensembles, including the well-renown Daryl McKenzie Jazz Orchestra who performed his latin jazz inspired “La Bella Rubia (arranged by Gianni Turcio).
Mark as performed live with many artists over the years including Ciaran Gribban (INXS), James Blundel, David Moyse (Air Supply) Paul Christie (Mondo Rock).
He is a former member of YouTube sensations the Hindley Street country Club (HSCC) band, having performed on 67 live video recordings, and toured with the band, most recently in August -September 2023 promoted by TEG Dainty.

The sessions are personalised depending on your personal goals and aspirations a singer, artist, musician, or practitioner (eg. aspiring music producer).
We establish practical goals and outcomes for the sessions, which we look to build on week-to-week.
Examples include:
- Learn (or improve) how to write songs and the techniques to generate creativity, write lyrics and compositions.
- Explore forms, structure and elements of composition, arrangement and production and how they work together.
- Look at strategies on how to release your music, get it heard by a wider audience, how to present yourself as an artist or band - identifying your UPS.
- We also go into industry aspects of how to get gigs, understand music royalties, developing your Bio and EPK.
Session also delve into the pragmatic elements of song production:
- develop critical listening skills by breaking down songs and identifying key lyric, composition and production elements.
- identifying the idioms of your chosen genre and how they may be employed in the development of your song.
- Explore how to employ key compositional tools such as contrast, tension and release, song structure and tempo.
- Identify and explore the sounds you love, how to create your own unique sound.
- Identify the relationships between melody, harmony and rhythm and how they work together to create a unifying composition.
- create grooves and beats that support and push your songs along.
