About Zara
I’m a piano tutor with 2 years of experience teaching students aiming for Berklee, Juilliard, and other advanced jazz programs. I earned a DMA in Piano Performance, and I’m dedicated to nurturing both the technical and creative abilities of my students. My lessons focus on advanced jazz repertoire, improvisation, and expressive musicianship.
I work closely with students on chord structures, improvisational concepts, and rhythmic sophistication. We explore jazz standards, modern compositions, and original works to expand versatility and musical intuition. Each lesson is personalized, blending rigorous practice with imaginative exploration. I emphasize dynamic playing, phrasing, and harmonic creativity to cultivate a unique artistic voice.
I also prepare students for auditions, ensemble work, and public performance. Sight-reading, technique, and theory are integrated seamlessly into lessons. I take pride in helping students achieve both musical excellence and expressive freedom. Together, we unlock the full potential of jazz piano performance.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students bring pop music to life on the piano. I guide learners in pop piano techniques, playing by ear, and chord voicings for popular songs. We work on arranging contemporary pieces so students can play music they love with confidence.
Lessons combine theory, technique, and hands-on practice to make learning practical and exciting. Students explore rhythm, dynamics, and voicing choices to make their songs sound polished. We also work on improvisation and creating personal touches in arrangements.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals, whether performing at home, recording covers, or composing their own material. Step by step, I help students tackle challenging songs while celebrating every milestone. Lessons are interactive and encourage creativity, expression, and musical independence.
I focus on building confidence and practical skills for real-world playing. Together, we unlock the secrets of pop piano and turn favorite songs into performances that feel alive.
