About Victoria
My philosophy as a music teacher is centered around building a love and appreciation for music in my students. I believe that playing an instrument should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and that encouragement, patience, and dedication is the key to success.
A comprehensive music education should include a knowledge of music history, as well as aural, reading, and improvisation skills. Since each student learns differently, it is important to me to understand and learn about my students so that I can carefully adjust my teaching style to fit their specific needs. These needs may include a more visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic approach for meaningful learning. Making these adjustments can ensure that each student is able to create, evaluate, analyze, apply, understand, and remember aspects of music.
It is my hope as a music teacher to inspire my students to continue playing and growing as musicians long after their lessons with me have ended. By embracing these principles, I believe that every student can achieve success and develop a lifelong love for music.
