About Joe
I teach all levels, whether you've never touched a guitar before in your life or you already have some serious skills. I also teach all ages, kids or adults (it's never too late to start!) My classes are usually laid-back, with the student learning what they would prefer to learn. I find this style of teaching to be hugely beneficial when it comes to keeping long-term interest in learning. If you want to get into the nitty-gritty of music theory, or you just want to rock out, the choice is yours! I specialise in pop, rock, metal, and punk styles. Whether you want to shred your heart out, learn some delicate fingerpicking, strum along to your favourite songs, lay down the low end with the bass guitar, or just finally be able to play the dreaded F chord, we can learn anything you'd like. The lessons can either be 30 mins or a full hour. I was awarded Distinction in my RSL Grade 8 Electric Guitar exam back in 2019, so I'm fully comfortable teaching grades. I have around a year's experience in formal tutoring, as well as teaching the odd lesson for friends and family for almost as long as I've been playing. Hi! My name is Joe and I'm a music graduate from the University of Leeds. I started teaching myself guitar at the age of 14, and want to share the large amount of knowledge that I've gained in the 9 years since. I have experience playing in hard rock and punk bands live, as well as playing in studio sessions.
