About Nathan
I graduated from Leeds Conservatoire with a 1st class honours, and also achieved an ARSM performance diploma.
Alongside my academic achievements, I am also a professional session musician for artists and bands.
I have played at venues such as: The Royal Albert Hall, The Albert Hall and Millennium Square, festivals such as: All Points East, Kendal Calling and Tramlines, along with multiple UK tours.
Having come from the world of Classical music and now being in the world of live performance, playing live shows with a range of projects from Jazz Bands to Brazilian Samba bands to RnB and Gospel artists, I have unique skill set that means I can cover all bases when it comes to learning the piano.

I welcome all ages and abilities. From learning where the middle C is and how to play Chopsticks, to completing an ABRSM Grade 7 exam, to teaching songwriters how to use theory to write interesting chord progressions for their songs, to explaining how to solo over jazz standards, to creating the right sounds for gigs and learning how to fit into your role as a keys player in a live band, I can cover everything you might need.
My approach to teaching is completely enjoyment based, I make sure that before we start learning anything, I understand what a student might want out of their lessons, and cater to their needs without sacrificing musical progress.
I also try and make sure that, as much as I push my students to become as good as possible, the motivation comes from loving music and wanting to sit down at the piano themselves.
I welcome any standard or age of student, and love getting students to the next level in their playing, no matter how inexperienced or how advanced.
