About Miriam
I am currently a student at the University of Northampton studying Multimedia Journalism. My main subject focus in tutoring is English. I have an IB diploma in Higher Level English and have a huge passion for the subject. People underestimate how important the subject is going into the real world whether that be in university or in business. I have tutored many of my peers throughout high school at different levels. I'm looking to do the same in university. Although it is a way to earn money, I love to help people where I can academically because the people who did that for me made a big difference in how I did in school.

I am currently in my second year of University, however, I have tutored students in the past, both on the same level as me (at the time) and as high as college level. I have an IB diploma in Higher Level English and have a huge passion for the subject. Outside of my course, I am also a writer, blogger and podcaster. I think it is important sometimes for students to have someone help them who is close to them in terms of age. There is a level of understanding between students that makes it easier to find ways to teach, considering that more often than not, the curriculum and principles haven't changed drastically.
My lessons are based on the needs of the student. The first thing would be to go over what you already know and then what you don't understand and work from there. I have always been a visual and kinetic learner so many of my lessons are driven by fun and creativity in a way that all the principles stick. The more interesting lessons are, the more you'll be engaged. I'm not here to bore students because once you lose interest, you shut yourself off from learning. All of this applies for accent reduction classes with a few minor changes.
