About Matty
I am a 2nd year Undergraduate student at King's College London studying Chemistry, with aspirations of being a researcher. In addition to my STEM studies I have been learning to play the saxophone for 7 years and singing for 9 years, earning grade 8 on both.

My teaching approach is student-centred, with a strong emphasis on clarity, engagement, and building confidence. I begin by assessing each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style. I break complex concepts into manageable parts, using real-life examples and analogies to enhance understanding. I also incorporate active learning techniques such as problem-solving, questioning, and discussion to encourage critical thinking. I believe in gradually increasing the complexity of material while providing support, then reducing that support as students gain independence. Feedback is continuous and constructive, helping learners track progress and stay motivated. The typical length of a lesson is 60 minutes, however I also offer 30 minute to 90 minute lessons.
