About Tom
I am a recent MSc graduate who understands that there are a lot of problems with a lack of flexibility in the education system. I struggled with rigid teaching methods and now I want the chance to offer personalised lessons which play to your strengths.
I have achieved excellent grades throughout my education, demonstrating I am confident knowing what to learn. On top of that, I have grown up with teacher for a mother, demonstrating I am also confident teaching how to learn.

I will develop a personalised learning program with you before we begin our lessons based on the topics you wish to study. I will then curate my lessons to the areas of subjects you want to spend time on. We will try to determine your learning style before we begin and I will develop my lessons accordingly to maximise your chances of understanding.
A typical lesson will involve:
• An introductory overview of the topic, including a motivation for why it is important
• An in-depth explanation of the theory behind the key concepts, while highlighting its relation to the real-world
• A step-by-step walkthrough of example questions, led firstly by me, then by you with my support
• Further example questions, and extensions if you achieve a good understanding
• A review of the lesson, and set homework if desired
I have informally tutored many ages from primary school to GCSE in the past, and have an empathetic understanding of learning behaviours.
Happy to teach any levels up to GCSE (for computer science) and up to A levels (maths, stats, economics)
