About Dya
I am an MSc graduate in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience with experience supporting students in Psychology and Biology, from GCSE through to AS and A-Level. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of neuroscience, biology, psychology, research methods, and the scientific principles underlying human behaviour and the brain.
Alongside my academic experience, I have worked in educational settings supporting children and young people with different learning needs. This has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt my teaching approach, and create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their confidence.
I believe that effective tutoring is not simply about providing answers. My aim is to help students understand *why* something works, develop independent learning skills, and become more confident in applying their knowledge to exam questions.
Whether a student needs help understanding a difficult topic, preparing for examinations, improving their written answers, or building confidence in a subject, I provide patient, structured, and individualised support tailored to their needs.
I am committed to creating a professional, encouraging, and respectful learning environment where every student can progress at their own pace.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style, academic level, and goals. I focus on building a strong understanding of the subject rather than relying solely on memorisation. I break complex topics into clear, manageable sections and use diagrams, real-life examples, active recall, exam-style questions, and step-by-step explanations to help students develop both knowledge and confidence.
For Psychology, I help students understand key theories, research methods, studies, and evaluation points while developing the skills needed to construct strong exam answers. For Biology, I focus on understanding biological processes and concepts, using visual explanations, diagrams, application questions, and exam practice to strengthen knowledge and exam technique. My neuroscience background also allows me to connect topics to real-world examples involving the brain, behaviour, genetics, and neurological processes where appropriate.
Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s age, level, concentration, and learning needs. I usually begin by reviewing previous material, introduce or develop the target topic, practise applying the knowledge, and finish with exam-style questions or a short recap. My lessons are suitable for GCSE, AS and A-Level students, as well as students who want additional support with understanding difficult topics, preparing for examinations, improving exam technique, or building confidence in their subject.
