About Brittany
I am a motivated violin tutor with 3 years of experience teaching students of all levels. I have successfully guided around 100 students, helping them build accurate technique and steady musical confidence. My teaching philosophy is centered on patience, clarity, and encouragement, ensuring every student receives guidance matched to their pace and comfort level. I focus on bow technique, intonation, and posture through organized, steady practice, celebrating small wins to keep students motivated. My teaching method for Violin, Music Theory, and Ear Training reflects three years of helping students build accurate technique through steady, patient coaching, even in the earlier stages of my tutoring career.
Patience shapes how I run each lesson, since bowing control and finger placement take time to develop, so I never rush a student ahead of their readiness.
Clarity matters in every session. I explain concepts simply and check that students grasp the reasoning behind each technique, not just the motion itself.
Encouragement stays present throughout my teaching, since recognizing small improvements keeps students motivated through the more demanding early stages of learning violin.
Lessons begin with posture, bow hold, and finger positioning, followed by scales and simple melodies to build muscle memory, along with early music theory basics like rhythm and note reading.
As students advance, I introduce basic intonation work, tone quality practice, and simple ear training exercises, along with light performance preparation for interested students.
I adjust my teaching to match each student's personal goals, whether playing casually or building toward more advanced study. My aim is a patient, clear space where every violin student grows with confidence.
