About Selin
I bring over 3 years of biology tutoring experience and hold an MSc in Immunology. My love for teaching comes from connecting science with the real world, especially in marine biology and oceanography. I focus on helping learners understand ecosystems, currents, and the human impact on oceans. I use interactive methods like documentaries, articles, and class discussions to make lessons engaging. Students explore coral reefs, ocean food webs, and deep-sea mysteries that spark curiosity. I guide learners through challenging concepts by breaking them into clear steps. My lessons include structured reviews for exams, but also open-ended exploration for deeper understanding. I encourage learners to see how biology links to environmental challenges. Topics like coral bleaching, microplastics, and conservation are included in our conversations. My goal is to build not only academic confidence but also environmental responsibility. Biology is at its most exciting when we explore what cannot be seen. My teaching approach focuses on microbiology, bacteria, viruses, and the spread of disease. Public health biology connects these lessons to global challenges. I use examples of past epidemics, hygiene practices, and vaccines to show why biology matters.
