About Jonathan
I am an Air Force veteran, eye surgeon, marathoner, novelist, and father of two from West Chester, Pennsylvania. I have been passionate about tutoring since I created and distributed study guides for my seventh-grade finals. I am greatly indebted to the mentors in my life, and I cherish the opportunity to help others achieve their goals and realize their greatest selves.

I cater my sessions to meet the individual goals of my students, whether that be to pass biology, write a novel, get accepted into medical school, or run a marathon. I leverage the unique strengths of each student and focus on improving weaknesses. My greatest asset is through mentorship: I will find more talent and ability within you than you see in yourself, and I will help bring those abilities to fruition.
My subject matter specialties include biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics at the high school and undergraduate level; creative writing for aspiring authors; running mentorship for those of any physical ability training for any length of race; and goal-oriented organizational skills.
My typical lesson plan varies depending on the individual needs and goals of each student. Math and science sessions are typically remote and last one hour. Local students have the option of in-person visits when mutually convenient.
I utilize a hybrid approach for creative writing mentorship, offering remote sessions as well as in-depth short story or novel analysis with in-line and big-picture feedback.
For those training for a race, I am open to flexible arrangements that best suit their goals and schedules. I will help runners set their goals and make their training plans, as well as keep runners accountable and provide motivation. For local runners, I offer in-person coaching sessions when mutually convenient.
