About Hector
I’m genuinely passionate about medicine and medical education, and I know first-hand how demanding and exhausting the journey into medicine can be. Having gone through the Graduate Entry Medicine process myself, I understand the pressure, uncertainty, and self-doubt that often come with admissions exams and interviews.
Now in my third year of medicine, I’m thoroughly enjoying the course and the clinical training, and it’s reinforced just how rewarding and meaningful a career in medicine can be. Alongside my studies, I’ve chosen to stay closely involved in teaching and admissions because I find real fulfilment in helping others navigate the same path with greater clarity and confidence.
What motivates me most is seeing students grow in confidence and realise they are capable of far more than they initially believe. I take pride in being approachable, supportive, and honest, while maintaining high standards and professionalism in everything I do.

My lessons are highly structured, personalised, and designed to reflect the realities of medical school admissions and high-stakes assessments. I draw on over 150 hours of private 1:1 tutoring experience where I have supported many students through GAMSAT preparation, medical interviews, and admissions assessments, with a strong track record of students progressing to interview and receiving medical school offers.
I take a strategic, exam-authentic approach, focusing on reasoning, communication, and confident performance under pressure rather than rote learning. Sessions typically last 60 minutes and combine targeted teaching, guided practice using realistic questions and scenarios, and detailed, actionable feedback tailored to each student’s goals and timeline.
My teaching is informed by my experience as a Swansea University Graduate Entry Medicine 2025 interview panellist, giving me direct insight into how candidates are assessed, marked, and differentiated at interview. In addition, as a Senior Teaching Assistant in Anatomy, I teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, including practical clinical skills such as OSCE-style examinations, airway management, CPR, and cardiovascular and respiratory examinations. This allows me to support students not only with admissions, but also with developing clinical reasoning and professional communication.
I also work as a commissioned GAMSAT Section I question writer, contributing to full-length mock exams and question banks. This gives me a detailed understanding of exam design, difficulty calibration, and the skills examiners are truly testing, which I incorporate directly into my tutoring.
My lessons are best suited to motivated students seeking high-quality, personalised preparation for the GAMSAT, medical school interviews (MMI and panel formats), and admissions assessments, from early preparation through to final-stage refinement.
