About Devansh

Hello, my name is Devansh. I am a 2nd-year medical student studying at University College London. I recently finished my A levels at Queen Mary`s Grammar School. I achieved 3A*s and 1A at A level, and 14 A*s at GCSE.

I have over 150 hours experience in teaching students both in large groups and on a 1 to 1 basis. Most of the students I have taught have been between the ages of 14 and 18 ie: GCSE and A level; and I have also assisted prospective medical and dental students with their applications for university.
My students have ended up at medical schools and universities across the country, including Oxbridge !

I offer tuition in:
-- Biology and Chemistry (at A level/GCSE/KS3 level) and Maths (at GCSE/KS3 level)
-- Guidance for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
-- Support with UCAS applications for Medicine/Dentistry or related courses, including interview practice.
-- UCAT tutoring (all of my students have achieved in the top decile)
-- BMAT tutoring

Having recently been through the university application process, I know what is expected of applicants and can help students to gain the edge they need to succeed in securing places for these highly competitive courses.

I have plenty of experience with the new syllabus and specifications for both A level and GCSE subjects (9-1 grading system). Having sat the challenging new A-levels, I know the tips and tricks that will allow my students to consistently achieve the top grades.

My tuition methods are flexible based on the learning styles of my students, however, one key principle that forms the basis of my sessions is understanding concepts, and not just memorizing topics. This is vital to ensure that students can apply concepts in exam questions, and maximize the marks that they achieve. I have always believed that this is the most important part of learning, hence why I place so much emphasis on it.

Typical lessons will consist of:
-- Firstly, identifying areas that require improvement and spending time clarifying the concepts.
-- Next, we move onto new teaching for the session, which will include regular testing of material to thoroughly cover the topic and cement concepts in the student's mind.
-- Finally, setting work to be completed before the next session.

As we approach exam season, my focus for lessons will shift to exam technique. I will be focussing on how to approach answering questions as well as getting the timing right. This will be done using past papers and mock exams, which will also allow me to identify where final improvements are needed so that I can tailor my upcoming lessons accordingly.

I love teaching students and helping them to achieve their goals! Let me do the same for you!
Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions you may have.
