About Mohamad
Hello! My name is Mohamad Abdulal. I'm an incoming M1 student at Western University's medical school at the Schulich Medicine and Dentistry school. Aside from my education here are some fun facts about me:
1) I am very passionate about sports. Soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, squash, swimming, kickboxing, billiards, .... my list does not end.
2) I am of Lebanese origin. I thus love Middle Eastern food. For me, nothing in the world beats a good fresh chicken shawarma wrap (with extra garlic please). Feel free to start a debate if you think your food can compete with me haha!
3) I once went to the gym just to buy a smoothie from their drinks corner. We all have weird days :)
I love to show my personality during our classes. I may use "interesting examples" to help students memorize a fact. Taking the MCAT 3 times, I know what it is like to fail as I have been there myself. However, I also know how to overcome setbacks. I hope to make our sessions not just academically strong but full of a positive mentality!

The exact structure of our lessons will depend on the specific student's needs. However, here is an outline of what I like to do:
1) develop a study schedule that the student can stick to long-term. Usually, this will start with content review and then slowly transition into practice questions and full-length exams.
2) go over specific topics of interest. Some students may have difficulties with specific topics. I love to go over these topics and discuss them in "simple English" to ensure that the student really understands the material before doing any further questions on it.
3) test on the spot. Some students may simply need help with the passage work on the MCAT. I do a mix of 2 things: a) have the student tackle a few passages during class while timed, and we take them up during the session to address pros and cons on the spot. This also gives me the chance to show the student how to tackle a passage and how to review your answers (the latter is necessary for a consistent score increase).
b) assign the student a few homework passages that we then take up during class. This is to help make our sessions more productive.
As you can see, my approach is heavily tailored to the student and can be demanding. Nonetheless, from my experience with the MCAT, I believe productivity is key to success.
My lessons are for any student taking the MCAT exam. I am also happy to give advice about the pre-med journey and talk generally about my extracurriculars that helped me earn my spot in medical school :)

I met Mohamad at my job at Canadian tire. He did a great job at teaching me concepts related to Grade 12 Chemistry Class (University Level). As a visual learner, he takes the time to draw out Lewis diagrams, to visualize VSEPR diagrams, and to color code the periodic trends to help me understand them better. He is very encouraging yet patient and I highly recommend him!
I took classes with Mohamad to improve my Psych/Soc score on the MCAT. He is very kind and patient when explaining the different Psych/Soc concepts. He is also very encouraging, especially when helping me form connections between concepts from different chapters of the book. During passage work, he takes the time to show me simple tips and tricks that can aid me in my thinking in order to get the correct answers. I achieved the score that I wanted and heavily recommend Mohamad as a tutor!
