About Lisa
Hello! I am Lisa, a Medical Student at the University of Cambridge. I have recently completed my pre-clinical years, achieving a 2:1 BA degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. I am currently undertaking a gap year before starting the clinical part of my course, so I will be based in my home town of Swansea this year. Before going to university, I studied Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Maths A Levels at my local Sixth-Form College.
I love helping others, and this extends to my teaching! I am very passionate about helping students to achieve their full potential through a personalised approach. I recognise that navigating GCSEs and A Levels can be challenging at times, and so I strive to help ease this by supporting you to build your knowledge and confidence in areas that are most important to you. Team work makes the dream work!

I am passionate about delivering friendly and personalised teaching to suit individual needs. I believe in adopting a student-guided approach to help students expand their knowledge and confidence in the areas they feel are most important to them. Having been educated in a state school, I appreciate how challenging it can be to learn in busy environments, and so I truly appreciate the value of a personalised approach to help students achieve their full potential.
I am available for tutoring in Biology and Chemistry, both at GCSE and at A Level. I undertook my own GCSEs and A-Levels with the WJEC exam board, having achieved 12 A*s at GCSE level and 4A*s at A-Level (in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Mathematics). I can tailor the delivery of my teaching to any exam board a student wishes, using exam syllabi as a springboard from which to deliver highly focused teaching.
Depending on the students' needs, teaching sessions can focus on expanding on specific areas of knowledge, and/or perfecting technique in preparation for upcoming exams. I encourage active student participation throughout and beyond my sessions; I give students the opportunity ask and answer questions in real-time, and also encourage students to consolidate their newly acquired skills and knowledge through practice questions between sessions. I complement this with regular feedback, to help students progress and reach their full potential.
Alongside teaching, I am also passionate about widening access to Medicine. I have experience in helping students with applications to Medical School, including at Oxford and Cambridge. I have delivered tutorial-style teaching and mock interviews to prospective students, which I am happy to provide as part of my tutoring sessions.
Overall, I am extremely passionate about delivering personalised teaching to students of all abilities and backgrounds - it would be a pleasure to work alongside you to help you fulfil your academic goals!
