About Paulo Luca
I am currently studying medicine at the University of Stellenbosch, however, my university career began in 2020, where I did one year of BSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. I have always enjoyed tutoring, with my specialty being mathematics, which I have been passionate about since I could remember. I have more than 5 years of tutoring experience and have assisted students from various skill levels.

I began tutoring in grade 10 when I joined a program at my high school that assisted learners struggling with the syllabus. I carried this through to matric and even took on weekend classes for learners from underprivileged schools at one stage. I believe that this experience, along with the advanced calculus, physics, and chemistry courses I took in my first year of study, has allowed me to have a strong grasp on the content, meaning I can communicate with clarity to my learners.
I prefer to take a practical approach to tuition, where I teach learners how to answer questions in tests and exams, and in the case of maths, how to identify patterns in question papers to take note of in order to achieve more consistent results. Typically, my lessons consist of me going through isolated examples relevant to the specific section the learner is struggling with. I typically begin with simple examples and end with problem-solving questions. I allow the students to attempt the question first, I then go through it with them and critique their techniwue.
I am able to tutor right through to matric and am proficient in English.
