About Jasmine
2017 - I ran Maths club for pupils aged 12-17. I introduced new skills to the pupils and pushed them beyond the curriculum. All the pupils greatly enjoyed the challenge and many entered the UKMT maths challenge. 2018/2019 - I helped to mentor and tutor A-Level students in both Chemistry and Biology. I would provide the students with A/A* level past paper questions based on the topics that they had been learning about that week. They would complete the booklets as best as they could and would come to me with the questions that they struggled on. I would go through each question individually with them to ensure they fully understood the basic concept of the topic in addition to teaching them how to apply the concepts to the questions. I feel that I have a very good knowledge and understanding of the subject as I completed both at A-Level and my Medicine degree course has allowed me to understand concepts at an even higher level. I have had first-hand experience of undertaking anatomy through the use of a Cadaver which allows me to appreciate the physiology, histology and pathology of the human body. 2020 - I have taught several students in preparation for their 11+ exams and SATS. I feel like I can give good advice as I undertook these exams.

My teaching method is to instil confidence in my students, particularly at this age as these exams can be daunting. I am open to any questions and always start from the very basics as it is much easier to build upon knowledge once these are understood - often all that is needed is a refresher of the basic knowledge which then allows more complex ideas to be understood much more easily. I have used the Bond books as a guide as well as past paper questions to assess the level of each student. I would then focus on areas of Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning that they need to improve on and teach them the basic skills so they can apply their skills to whatever question they get.
