About Ashwina
Hi! I’m Ashwina, a medical student at the University of Southampton with a strong academic background in Biology and previous experience working at Kumon for over a year.
Studying medicine has given me an even deeper understanding and appreciation of Biology, particularly human biology, and I’d love to use that knowledge to help students feel more confident in the subject.
I know Biology can sometimes feel overwhelming with the amount of content and terminology involved, so I want to show students that it can become much more manageable once concepts are properly understood rather than simply memorised.
I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I aim to create an environment where students never feel embarrassed to ask questions or admit when they don’t understand something. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but to leave them feeling genuinely more confident in Biology.

I’m a medical student at the University of Southampton with previous experience working at Kumon, so I understand that every student learns differently. My Biology lessons focus on making difficult concepts genuinely easy to understand rather than simply memorising information.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, whether that means going back over confusing topics, working through exam questions, improving exam technique or aiming for the highest grades. I like to break complicated processes down into simple steps, diagrams and memorable explanations before applying them to real exam-style questions.
Most importantly, my lessons are friendly and judgement-free. I want students to feel completely comfortable telling me when something doesn’t make sense, asking as many questions as they need and gradually becoming confident enough to tackle questions independently.
