About Oshara
I am a doctor from Sri Lanka. I moved to Australia to study my Masters, which is in Public Health. I have also completed my medical examinations to practice in Australia. I love teaching science and medical subjects for all levels of students :) I have just got a position to work as a doctor but I am very much keen to keep teaching as it really helps me to keep my knowledge fresh. You get to be able to explain so much through science. I myself had an amazing science and biology teacher when I was young, that made me want to pursue medicine, and my passion is to be able to inspire young people to learn about life and how organisms survive, thrive and change and build the curiosity to continuously learn :) Having gone through numerous exams myself, i completely understand the pressure of exams! I hope I am able to be of help :)

Something that really works when studying science subjects, especially biology and medical topics is to understand the concept behind the learning areas and creating a story out of what we learn. Very rarely do we forget stories! :) when complex, I Iike to break the content down, use simple charts, algorithms that really help students-to summarise and remember the important content. I am happy to adjust my approach according to my student's preference, eg., if you would like short notes, we can take that approach etc. a lesson time would be 1.5 hours :)
