About Khalisah
Hi, My name is Khalisah, a final year medical student with a BMedSci (Hons) degree both from the University of Nottingham and over a year's experience in tutoring. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and teaching those that are willing to engage and want to excel in the subject they wish to learn and I believe this is reinforced throughout my tutoring sessions. As a medical student, who has always aspired to achieve the best marks and grades I could - I am no stranger to tutoring. As an individual who has been both a tutor and a tutee I believe I know what students previously like myself, look for in a tutor and what they find most useful. I have privately tutored family friends for a number of years especially in Science subjects as a medical student having achieved 5A*s and 5As at GCSE. I have also tutored a number of aspiring medical students helping with personal statements and interview preparations. Fully DBS checked

Before we begin tutoring, I like to get a better idea of what the student would like to focus on. If there are any particular worries about certain topics they have, and how they learn best. This allows me to cater my session plans to students and ensures they remain focused throughout, as I believe it’s important to understand not all students learn in the same way as one another. Examples of session plans include going through a topic within their curriculum that has been identified as a weakness for the student, go through the foundations of this topic and use worked examples throughout to show them how their knowledge can be applied to exam-style questions. At the end of each session we go through exam style questions to ensure students can apply the knowledge they have learnt throughout the session and come back to anything they may have found challenging. Sessions typically last around 1-2 hours depending on availability.

I have had a few lessons with khalisah previously for GCSE biology. I found some concepts quite difficult to comprehend and she was able to make it easier to understand and explained it very simply.
Khalisah has been such a supportive tutor and I would highly recommend her. She has built up my confidence greatly through her way of teaching and she is a very caring individual with a lot of knowledge :)
Khalisahs patience and supportive nature is what allows her to be great tutor. She is very punctual and organised which is essential when someone else if requiring help off her. I’ve known her for many years but I know she always wants others around her to do their best too as well as give her best.
