About Christo

Hi, I'm Christo! I'm a friendly and patient tutor with three degrees: a BMSc and MHSc from Western University, and my medical degree (BMBS) from the University of Limerick, where I graduated with First Class Honors.

I genuinely enjoy teaching and breaking tricky concepts down into simple, clear steps. Outside of academics, I'm a big Toronto Raptors and FC Barcelona fan, I play guitar with my church music ministry, and I founded and led a gaming society back in university — so I'm easy to talk to and relate to, whatever you're into.

I believe anyone can get good at math with the right guidance, and I'd love to help you get there.

About the lesson

I'm a medical doctor (MD) who completed IB Higher Level mathematics, and I tutor math across all K-12 levels: from elementary foundations through Grade 12 advanced functions and calculus.

My approach is to help understand, not memorize. Most students struggle with math not because they can't do it, but because no one ever showed them why a method works. I teach the reasoning behind each concept, then build fluency through targeted practice.

A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what's confusing you, then we work through the underlying concept step by step, and finish with practice problems pitched at the right level — including past test and exam-style questions when one is coming up. I adjust the pace to you: if something clicks fast, we move on; if it needs a second angle, we find one.

What sets me apart: I've cleared one of the most competitive academic paths there is, and IB Higher Level math means I've personally done the hardest high-school math there is. I know what examiners look for and how to think under time pressure.
