About Sidra
As a high school student, I struggled to learn from the in-class lessons. I used different learning styles to gain a better understanding of math and sciences, which I further honed during my teaching degree. This helped me to increase my marks from low 80’s in grade 9 to above 95% in Linear Algebra and Calculus.
I have used these methods to help students gain a deeper understanding of the concepts and to increase their marks by 10% - 20%, at the least.
I have even helped high school dropout students restart from grade 10 math and science, and go on to complete college engineering successfully.
With 12 years of professional experience as an engineer, in petrochemical and nuclear industries, I have an even deeper understanding of how to apply in-class theory to real practical application.
As a homeschooling mom, I was challenged to meet the learning needs of three entirely different learning styles. I incorporated a diverse range of teaching styles (such as visual, kinesthetic), into different curriculums to teach real-world application of the subjects.

1. I am committed to helping struggling students gain a better understanding of the subjects down to the basic foundation of their understanding of the subject.
2. I love to incorporate methods to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and apply it to their homework.
3. But I prefer to balance this with learning strategies that increase the students’ marks.
4. Lastly, I am passionate about making connections between classroom learning and real-world application. So, the students understand the WHY behind each subject and see the value of their learning in the real world.
Hence, my focus is to help students gain a deep understanding of the subject while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, learn to write tests so their marks actually increase, and so they learn the practical application of their learning.
