About Chloé

I am a trained and experienced tutor. At Dawson College, I was able to complete a course on how to tutor (Relation d'aide à l'apprentissage). I understand what it is like to struggle with material, and I have first-hand experience of overcoming it. I speak both English and French fluently, having grown up in an English-speaking household, and always having gone to French school. I have tutored students from elementary school age all the way to adults in various subjects. I have tutored many people on this platform, as well as several other platforms.

I am a graduated McGill student in Kinesiology, tutoring grade school math and science, as well as French as a second language and English as a second language. I have been trained as a tutor, have experience working with multiple students of all ages, and have learned to cater to each individual's needs. Because I used to struggle in these classes myself, I had to learn tips and tricks that teachers don't have time to explore. Every session, the student and I discuss the goal for that day. At the end, I give a little review exercise to make sure the goal has been met.

  • 1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

In school, I always loved math. I was naturally drawn to numbers and how they fit together—it felt like solving a puzzle where everything had its place. Math was consistent: once you figured it out, there was a satisfying sense of order, unlike regular life, which often felt full of gray areas.

French, on the other hand, is a gray area—but in a beautiful way. I was fascinated by how different languages shape how we think and express ourselves. Each one carries its own rhythm, expressions, and unique words. It felt like unlocking a treasure trove that never ends.
  • 2) What makes you passionate about your subject?

I know what it’s like to struggle with school. I have ADHD, a learning disability that often left me feeling like I was always behind, constantly trying to catch up. What drives my passion for tutoring is the opportunity to offer students something I would have loved: a safe space to learn at their own pace.

When I tutor, there’s no comparison to others. My students aren’t “ahead” or “behind”—they're simply learning in the way their brain is wired to learn. That shift in perspective is empowering and is rewarding to witness.
  • 3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I’m a trained and experienced tutor. At Dawson College, I completed a course in tutoring called Relation d’aide à l’apprentissage. I’m fluently bilingual—raised in an English-speaking household but educated entirely in French, which allows me to comfortably switch between both languages, depending on what the student needs.

I’ve worked with students of all ages, from young children to adults, and I’ve tutored across multiple platforms, including Superprof. I use not only traditional methods, but also games and activities to make learning engaging and enjoyable. Over time, I’ve developed the ability to adapt quickly and tailor my approach to each individual. That flexibility, paired with experience, is what makes me a Superprof.
  • 4) Do you have any role models, a teacher who inspired you? Please explain.

Yes—I once had a math tutor when I was learning calculus, a subject that felt like it made no sense at the time. Unlike my classroom teachers, she met me where I was. She had time, patience, and a genuine love for math that made me feel safe to ask questions and learn slowly.

That sense of calm and joy in her teaching stayed with me. Years later, I still remember how supported I felt.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

My number one tool is unlimited patience. Some students understand after one explanation. Others need to revisit the same idea for weeks—and that’s okay. My job is to make sure they never feel ashamed for how long it takes.

I want my students to walk away not just knowing how to spell “turtle” or solve for x, but with something even more valuable: the knowledge that hard work leads to real results. That belief—that progress is always possible—is a lesson they can carry with them for life.
